Richmond Area Mensa (RAM) is a local group of American Mensa. Our geographical area is central Virginia and spans roughly from north of Fredericksburg through Richmond and to the southern boundary of Williamsburg. Parts of it extend to the border with North Carolina. There are about 300 members in this area.

In general, we score high in tests of intelligence and live in central Virginia. We are uncommon, opinionated, curious, have short learning curves, and long attention spans. Members come from any faith (or none) and from all backgrounds. Our members range in age from 8 to 88 and include CEOs, artists, writers, teachers, computer programmers, lawyers, doctors, accountants, retirees, and religious leaders.
