Testing
The Mensa Admissions Test is offered on alternate months in the Richmond metropolitan area and on demand in the Fredericksburg area. The test is $40. Checks (no credit cards accepted) should be made out to "American Mensa." You can also bring cash if you have exact change. For more information contact Tuesday Stott, RAM Testing Coordinator.
Second Sunday
On the second Sunday of every month we meet at Barnes & Noble Cafe at 4:00 p.m. to hang out and chat. Visitors are welcome. Contact Elaine Greywalker (or 804-873-2585).
Dining Out
The third Friday of each month we try out a different local restaurant varying the cuisine, price and location.
Fredericksburg Gathering
One Sunday each month, members in the Fredericksburg geographic area gather at a local coffee shop.
More Events
There are Mensa events for members throughout Region 2. Additionally, you can find Mensa member events nationally and internationally.
You can expect anywhere from 1-20 members in the Richmond Area Mensa (RAM) area to have the same interests as you do. Keep in mind that we're Mensans. We aren't just interested in (for example) Travel. We're interested in Travel to historical sites relating to the Civil War and we'd like to go in the spring (for example).
Most members have multiple interests and very busy lives. Member interests include: modern medical technology, historical leaders, expressive creativity, rose cultivation, auto restoration, precision gun shooting and tropical beaches. Once you are a member you will have access to member profiles from across the country. You will also be able to find local members who share your interests through the annual American Mensa interest survey (called the PDQ).
If you've been looking for a bunch of smart people to hang out with, you've found us!
Newsletter
Named M-Provise, the newsletter of Richmond Area Mensa is distributed monthly except for January and August. Articles are written by local members and regional leaders covering a large array of topics. The newsletter is distributed electronically as a PDF to members with current e-mail addresses. A black and white printed copy is mailed to those without e-mail access.
Submissions from members are welcomed. Please contact the Editor for more details.
